Autumn Term
Class Author Week
During the first week back, we read The Boy Who Saved a Bear.
A boy and a bear meet, become friends and have the adventure of their lives! Nuwan works at the library, delivering books. One day, he accidentally takes away a very valuable key that's been hidden inside one of the books. On the run, he hides in a cave, only to discover in the middle of the night that he is sharing it with a big, hairy, terrifying bear! After some hair-raising moments, he and the bear reach an understanding and they travel on together, evading the bad guys and hoping the key will unlock the answers to the mystery so that they can stop running and return home...
During the week we produced a poster on why we should protect animals, carried out research and created a fact file on Sloth Bears. Did you know...
- Sloth bears nostrils can close completely, protecting the animals from dust or insects when raiding termite nests or beehives.
- Sloth bears are the only bears to routinely carry their young on their backs.
Positivity week
During Positivity week we have been looking at 'What makes me happy?'
We were lucky to have a visit from Pete the Poet creating a class chant and poem all about positivity.
