~ Welcome to St Michael's Academy ~

A very warm welcome to the St Michael’s Academy website.

We are extremely proud of our caring and supportive school community where we celebrate and develop the wide and varied skills and interests of our children through a broad and balanced curriculum. We value each child’s potential whether that be academic, creative, sporting or social.

Here at St Michael’s our mission is to develop personal fulfilment within all our pupils so that they continue their lives with determination, self-esteem, initiative and pride. We are aspiring to improve things for all of our children, our staff and the community and ensure that all children leave St Michael’s as prepared as they can possibly be for their next steps in education and the wider world.  To this end, St Michael's offers a rich, diverse and balanced curriculum that is built around the acquisition of skills and knowledge.

Is it wonderful to know that following our recent Ofsted inspection that the judgement of the school was ‘good’. Our pupils are described as being kind, well behaved and very supportive of each other.  Staff work tirelessly to ensure that all pupils have the opportunity to broaden their experiences with pupil well-being at the heart of everything that we do. Our curriculum is broad, balanced, creative and innovative and meets the needs of all pupils.

Our pupils spoke with great confidence when questioned by the Ofsted inspectors and demonstrated empathy towards each other. They respect the uniqueness of the school and fully embrace the diversity of all that attend. They are proud of their teachers, their friends and most of all themselves.

St Michael's Academy is a Nut Free School

Just a reminder that we are a nut free school.  We have children who attend the school who have a severe allergy to nuts so please do not send your children in with any snacks or lunch which contain any nuts.

Attendance- we have had a large number of students kept off with a cough/cold and snotty nose. A common cough and/or cold is not reason to keep your child off school. We are happy to administer medication provided by parents to help them deal with their symptoms within school hours (please bring all medication to the office and sign a consent form) Should it be decided that your child is too unwell to continue the day we will contact you to come and collect them.
